Hazrat Jaweria RA

Hazrat Jawariya (RA)

Name and lineage

The name of Jawariyah is from the family of Mustaliq of Khuza'ah tribe. The lineage is as follows: Jawariyah b.

Harith ibn Abi Zarar was the chief of Banu Mustaliq, the father of Hazrat Jawariya (may Allah be pleased with him).

Marriage

Hazrat Jawariya's first marriage was to Musafi bin Safwan (Dhi Shafar) in his own tribe.

Hazrat Jawariya's father and husband Musafi were both enemies of Islam, so Harith started preparing to attack Madinah by gesturing to the Quraysh or by himself. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) received the news, he sent Barida ibn Hasib al-Aslami for further investigation. He returned and confirmed the news. He ordered the Sahaabah to prepare. He left Madinah and stayed in Marisa, which is nine (9) miles from Madinah, but Harris had already received the news, so his party dispersed and he himself went somewhere, but The people who had settled in Marisa were lined up and the Muslims who had been shooting arrows for a long time suddenly attacked together, then their legs became numb, 11 people were killed and the rest were arrested, their number was about 600, Two thousand camels and five thousand goats were seized.

Those who were captured in the battle. Among them was Hazrat Jawariya (may Allah be pleased with him). There is a narration of Ibn Ishaq which is also in the books of some hadiths that all the prisoners of war were divided into slaves. Hazrat Jawariya (RA) came to the part of Thabit bin Qais. He requested Sabit to write to him, that is, to take some money from me and leave it. Sabit agreed to pay 9 ounces of gold. They also came to the Holy Prophet (sws). Hazrat Ayesha (ra) was also present there.

Ibn Ishaq narrated from Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) which is certainly his personal opinion that since Jawariya (may Allah be pleased with her) was very sweet, I saw her going to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and thought that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) His beauty will have the same effect on me as it did on me. She went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and he said, 'Do you not want something better?' He said, "What is that?" He said, "I will pay the money on your behalf and I will marry you." Hazrat Jawariya agreed. Lee

But the second narration makes a clearer statement.

The fact of the matter is that Hazrat Jawariya's father (Harith) was a noble Arab. When Hazrat Jawariya (RA) was arrested, Harith came to the service of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and said, "My daughter cannot be a slave. My dignity is higher than that. I am the leader of this tribe and the chief of the Arabs. He said, "Wouldn't it be better to leave it to the will of the jury?" Do not disgrace me, he said, "I like to be in the service of the Messenger of Allah." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married her.

Ibn Sa'd narrated in Tabaqat that the father of Hazrat Jawariya (may Allah be pleased with him) married her and when she became free, the Prophet (peace be upon him) married her. (Ibn Sa'd 84/8)

When he married Hazrat Jawariya (RA), all the prisoners of war who had joined the army were released at once. The army said that the family in which the Prophet (PBUH) married was not a slave. Probably, [Abu Dawud Kitab al-Ataq vol. 2 p. 105 Tabaqat vol.

Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I have not seen any woman more blessed for the sake of her nation than Jawariya (may Allah be pleased with her). Because of her, hundreds of families of Banu Mustaliq were liberated.

The name of Hazrat Jawariya (RA) was Bara. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) changed the name of Jawariya (RA) because it was bad. [Sahih Muslim, vol. 2, p. 231]

Death

Hazrat Jawariya (RA) died in Rabi-ul-Awal in the year 50 AH. At that time he was 65 years old. Marwan offered funeral prayers and was buried in Janat-ul-Baqi.
